I have been volunteering with this organization for almost 10 tens. It has been amazing to see how the healing power of water can make such a difference in the lives of those suffering from disabilities. I've got many wonderful stories, but I'll share just one. We were on a dive in the Florida Keys and with us was a veteran who was paralyzed from the waist down. It was his first time to get in the ocean as a diver. Because it was his first time, we all paid extra attention to him. Not long after he got in the water, I swam close to him, close enough to see his eyes through the mask. What I saw were tears in his eyes. It was so emotional for him to be able to be "free" and be able to "move" underwater, that it brought tears to his eyes. I'll never forget the moment and am proud that I was part of the effort to get him in the water.
