I’m a disabled veteran, who with a giant step outside of my comfort zone I became a Buddy Diver for my brothers and sisters. There are disabled veterans that are in worse situations than I am in and some that are in better situations. I became a Buddy Diver through a grant from Veterans Ocean Adventures inc.(VOA inc.). I have been on numerous ocean dives and a few less pool dives (Discover Scuba Diving) than I would have liked as a Buddy Diver. I love this organization. This organization allows me to continue the mission. I might no longer be in the military but thanks to VOA inc. I still feel I have a purpose and a place to continue to serve. I know VOA inc. also has a sailing program that benefits disabled veterans/ veterans as well. All the veterans that I have spoke with in regards to the sailing aspect, have had nothing but awesome and great things to say about the sailing program. VOA inc. doesn’t care if you’re a quad/ para-plegic, amputee, if you have disabilities that are not visible or just a veteran. They are there to assist you and have you express yourself through the Healing Powers of Water. I wouldn’t be where I am today without VOA inc. I wish more veterans can experience this great organization. See you in the water M. Ochmanski.
