When we first moved to North Carolina, we were dogless having lost our wonderful dog shortly before moving. I searched on a placement site and discovered our new baby, Pretzel, on the site. We contacted Sandra, who carefully reviewed our pet-owning history, before allowing us to adopt. I expected the care she took with the placement, but he next act of kindness was truly remarkable. After the volunteer delivery flight that she had arranged fell through, Sandra and her sister delivered our beloved Pretzel to our home!
We have had our Pretzel for almost five years and while he has become a wonderful part of our family, Sandra has become a good friend. During the time I have known Sandra, I have how devoted she is to the dogs in her care and how committed she is to providing each one of them a loving and safe home. If you ever decide to adopt a new dog, you could find a better or more reliable source than Save the Strays and Sandra.

We got our great little dog, Pretzel, from this amazing shelter. Since adopting our great little guy, we have had several occasions to speak with Sandra and ask questions about how to best look after him. She has always been generous both with her time and her knowledge of dogs. This is a great place to find and new companion and people who genuinely care for the dogs in their care
