Review for Lawson Valley Homeowners Emergency Action Team & Community Serv Board, Jamul, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Lawson Vly HEAT was formed as a result of losing all our volunteer firefighters and our volunteer fire station at once withoout any notice. Homeowners were losing their insurance. We formed our non profit, got new volunteers, and built a new volunteers station all through the volunteer efforts of our valley residents and the help of a few other Jamulians. It was amazing to be a part of this effort.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

being better protected in case of fire or medical emergency. Also, I got to know the wonderful neighbors I have in this valley.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

be more active.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

learning

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

regular people who cared enough to make a difference.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

educate the residents and make this valley fire safe with healthy vegetation and watershed management. It would also support the Rural Fire District in paying for more fire fighters and equipment for our area.

Ways to make it better...

I had known more to begin with.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

staying active when there is no emergency.

One thing I'd also say is that...

The people ofthis valley constitute the members of this organization; and this valley rocks!

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010
