If you are trying to adopt a cat, I would not go here, EVER! My family and I tried to adopt a cat that was at our local pet store. Once the woman contacted me, she had a ton of questions for me and also wanted to contact my vet to see if my other pets were vaccinated. That much I could deal with. After a second-lengthy phone conversation, we set up a time to have an in-home visit due to the fact that we have dogs who have never been around cats. (Please keep that in mind.)

When she finally arrived at my house (late), she let the cat roam and interact with us. We were loving the cat and she was loving us. We set up a room just for the cat so that she could be introduced to the dogs; a sun room with glass doors. We brought our first dog out. He saw the cat and was growling very quietly, not in a threatening manner at all. She informed me that she needed to call someone to see if this was normal. All I was wondering was, why are you doing an in-home visit with dogs and cats if you have no experience. She didn't even explain to the other person that it was a non-aggressive growl, only that he was growling. A couple minutes later, my dog lost interest in the cat and walked away.....yeah, very threatening huh. She then did a kennel test with the cat in the kennel and my dog just sniffed the kennel for a few minutes then walked away. No growling or anything. He was more interested in treats than the cat, which she stated herself.

Let me also note that any time my dog would go near her, she would cringe and make faces. Clearly she did not like dogs!

Dog number two comes out and he immediately starts barking at her.....stranger danger. Typical reaction from a dog to a stranger. Within a minute he was licking all over her, which I stopped him, and he was fine. We showed him the cat and he started barking. Without giving him any time to acclimate and WITH TEARS IN HER EYES (seriously?!?!), she stated, this is not going to happen.

First of all, she did not even give them a chance to acclimate. Dogs tend to bark at new things, but quickly stop if given the chance. She had her own biased opinions because of a past experience with another dog.....dog, not dogs, DOG. She would not let this cat into a perfectly good, loving home because of her biases and the fact that she was clearly anti-dogs. She has no business working with a rescue and should not be allowed to continue. I will quickly tell anyone not to use this rescue....which I already have and due to my experience, they are not. I would give this place less than one star if I could!!!!! Adopter beware!
