REEF has been a wonderful tool to teach biology to divers. We introduce the technique basics early in advanced diver training or on special biology field trips. Students learn to identify the various fins, jaw structures and behavior of fish as part of species identification, which adds t0 a richer understanding of fish biology. The REEF program also allows students to add their contribution to the body of science after only a few hours of training. They love it!
