Review for Wounded Warrior Project, Jacksonville, FL, USA

Rating: 1 stars

I have been in affiliation with this organization over several years. When I speak of WWP I specifically refer to the Florida chapters in Tampa and Jacksonville. WWP is based upon who you know and your status in their circle. As a caregiver I have been bullied by other women in and at events because they are "groupies". The same several people at all the same events...so to include others and attempt to emulate the mission statement went out the window right away. When I reported the bullying, I was targeted and "black listed". I no longer received the weekly emails, my warrior And I were denied participation and when we needed emergency assistance when we lost our house to the hurricane, we were provided one night in a hotel. Thank you for that because we needed it! That was it. When we needed assistance due to nonprofit fraud in another organization, they made a call to the other on our behalf. When it came time to hold the other np accountable, Wwp disappeared, not another word...couldn't stand by their own and refused to participate with authorities. No exactly "got your back". They also refused to assist (even listening or passing me off) about my ww needing emergency assistance at the Tampa VA. I had my Congressman take care of it, and he did.

Review for ECAD, Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities, Torrington, CT, USA

Rating: 1 stars

I was a client first. I was a volunteer 2nd and an employee third. The organization and work environment was horrific. There is no professionalism, skirting the rules, keeping silent auction items for themselves, fighting, screaming...when I left, the family refused to return my personal belongings and failed to pay me my wages, contract and supplemental pay. It took 18 months with the Dept of Labor. I was the first to make a claim and others soon followed. When I left the owners spread false rumors, had other clients attack me verbally, threaten me and then the owners refused to me as a team with my dog! I was the public access certifier for the teams---they use sponsors and donors and veterans as puppets. Couldn't be organized to do any lobbying or outreach either. They pick and choose their clients as well...

Review for Combat Veterans To Careers, Wildwood, FL, USA

Rating: 1 stars

David came to our house and made a bunch of promises he didn't keep. With all his promises and the value of those promises, we agreed to a donation of one of our items with high value. He got the item and never came through. The item was kept for his personal use. He has refused to cooperate. He stated he would return the item, then when I went to get it, he attempted to extort money from me. He did not provide, at request, a donation form, an appraisal, follow any of the terms of then agreement. Litigation...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Also, David wanted to purchase some items from us. Even though we had a buyer and needed the money due to our crisis, we agreed to sell the items to David. He made 1 payment and never another dime. He owes me over $1500! Again...needs to go to litigation. Why should I have to go through this? Does his mean he has been taking from other veterans too? He is the ONLY employee, making good money while on SSD and VA disability. That is also a no-no....
