Review for Women for Afghan Women Inc, Fresh Meadows, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Women For Afghan Women (WAW)have done a tremendous job in providing shelter, safety and skills for Afghan women. Time Magazine recently put out a cover story by Richard Stengel, Managing Editor on Thursday, Jul. 29, 2010. WAW provided shelter for the young girl in the article as she waited transport to the Grossman Burn Foundation for reconstructive surgery.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Seeing how a shattered life of a young Afghan girl is being turned around to bring help, healing, and humane treatment of females in an area where women rights are not the norm.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

WAW is a hands on organization where women, volunteers and the Board work together to promote human rights for Afghan women. It makes a difference in individuals lives and it is exciting and heart warming to see transformations take place.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Staff and volunteers have taken their personal time to respond and welcome volunteers to their charity.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Start schools for girls in Afghanistan. Provide more safe houses and medical care for battered women. Teach Afghan women in the U.S. and Afghanistan skills needed for work. Promote womens self-determination.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
