Review for AYS, Inc., Indianapolis, IN, USA

Rating: 5 stars

AYS before and after school service was a blessing to me as a single parent who needed to work to provide for my daughter. I was more at ease at my job knowing my daughter was in a safe environment before and after school while I worked. The staff at AYS was a god sent to both of us. They were so thoughtful and cared about my daughter's feelings and helped with her self-esteem and setting her goals. AYS is an amazing service and my daughter and I are very thankful this service was available at her school.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My daughter was more convenient about herself attending AYS and that is why she is a very determined young lady today. She had great mentors at AYS that took the time with her and listened to her. Very thankful for the service of AYS.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would see if they was funding out there to assist parents in the fees. I know that it takes money to run a program like AYS, but being a single mom money is very tight. There is so much are kids get out of having great mentors and being safe.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

how the staff interacted with the kids. I enjoyed all the family get togethers AYS had through the years my daughter attended.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

professional, caring, and supported. Even today my daughter and I are in contact with the staff that cared for her. The staff was extremely helpful and caring through the years. Being a single mom I needed all the help I could get.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

provide before and after care for struggling workings parents that need this service. Not having someone to care for your kids while you have to work is extremely difficult on a person.

Ways to make it better...

My experience was OUTSTANDING.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding. It is a service that is vital to our community to keep our kids safe and reassurance that they are learning new and exiting things. AYS provides that for all working parents so they are able to provide for their families.

One thing I'd also say is that...

AYS was not only a great service, but they staff provided much needed mentoring to my daughter at a very difficult time in our lives. AYS was and is a wonderful organization to our community and is very much needed for all kids today.
