Review for Option Institute and Fellowship, Sheffield, MA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I cannot say enough good things about the people at the Autism Treatment Center of America, home of The Son-Rise Program(R).

My husband and I just returned from an advanced training class, Maximum Impact, after completing the Start-Up class a few years ago. The staff is consistently loving and supportive; these people know you, keep in touch with you, and genuinely care about your family and want to help you grow in order to help your child to thrive. Not only do they provide a loving, supportive and welcoming environment, but they train you to be fully equipped to help your child. The way they have designed the training classes - weeklong retreats in a serene environment - nurtures not only your soul (what autism mama doesn't need that?!), but also your marriage (if you attend with your spouse) as well as your need for true community. They are weaving a beautiful web in the autism community.

Along with in-person training, there is an online program option which is fantastic. That being said, there is nothing like being on campus. After just one week, you will leave with friends and allies from all over the world, 35 hours of training, and every resource you need. This all adds up to give you the confidence that you can, indeed, help your child.

We have done many different therapies over the last nine years with our autistic twin boys including ABA, biomedical, speech, OT, feeding therapy, sensory integration, and there is absolutely nothing that compares to The Son-Rise Program. Even the few therapies we continue - special diets and some supplement - are only enhanced when you approach them with the Son-Rise Program attitude. We've been joyfully running a Son-Rise program for over four years and it is not just a therapy we do; it's a way we live. Love is at the center. Attitude and acceptance is the focus. Hope is the message. The teachers at the ATC have taught my husband and myself a wonderful way to develop true relationships with our children, meeting them where they are at.

Bears and Samaria Kaufman and their precious family - especially Raun and Bryn - and the other wonderful staff members have dedicated their lives to helping families who have a child with autism. The teachers have been teaching for not months, but decades. They have worked with hundreds (if not thousands) of children. Their passion and dedication shines through and has blessed our family immensely.

If you are looking for help with your autistic child, call the Autism Treatment Center of America...today. Find a way to get there. They offer scholarships and will help advise you on fundraising. If you are looking for a worthy non-profit affiliated with autism, please, look no further. This is the one.
