Review for Golden Retriever Club of Greater Los Angeles Rescue, Los Angeles, CA, USA
I adopted my first Golden from GRCGLARescue two years ago, and my second one last year. When I encountered health issues with my older dogs, the volunteers were so helpful in geting me referrals and sharing their own experiences, and I decided to foster and have gradually taken on more volunteer responsibilities. These folks make us feel like part of their family.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
their commitment to the welfare of their breed. This organization takes dogs the other rescues won't touch because of their age, or medical problems or behavior problems. They always find a way to make room for 'just one more'.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
have them expand further up north. My family members are in central and northern CA and are having trouble adopting a dog in northern CA.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The family-like atmosphere working in the organization. The great love of the dogs. All I've learned about dogs while I've been with them.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
knowledgeable, caring and professional. Real dog-people!
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
expand its operation into other areas so other people could benefit from their service.
Ways to make it better...
I had learned about them earlier!
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
The increasing costs of medical care associated with taking care of all the sick and injured dogs. The ever-increasing numers of dogs that need to be rescued.
One thing I'd also say is that...
These folks have made a huge difference in the lives of my family. We look at our dogs and what they mean to us, and know they wouldn't be here without GRCGLARescue.
