We are grateful for Midwestern University's partnership with PWNA. With PWNA's support, our shelter medicine program is working to reduce pet overpopulation and euthanasia in Native American communities while providing basic preventive and clinical care for animals identified as needing additional medical services during mobile clinic visits to the reservations. PWNA's partnership provides surgical opportunities for students while educating them about animal welfare issues, including an understanding of how unsterilized animals contribute to a host of public health problems, particularly on reservations.
