METTA Rescue Family is an amazing organization. They go over and above to help some of the neediest dogs in the central FL community. Dogs who would otherwise not make it out of situations without METTA's intervention. These are dogs with major medical issues, dogs abandoned in the community, dogs who were not being cared for properly by previous owners, and so much more. METTA takes them in, finds them a loving foster home, gets them the medical and emotional care they need to become their best selves and ready for a new forever home. They also have a re-homing assistance program to help prevent dogs from ending up in shelters in the first place plus resources for keeping dogs in the home including options on their website for low cost training, medical, pet friendly housing, and more. This organization is powered by volunteers who rely solely on donations. They are a foster-based rescue and must have foster homes in order to be able to save more dogs.
