I am a first year law student and received PWNA's American Indian Education Fund scholarship for this academic year 2018-19. This scholarship goes above the typical funding support. I received a care package at the beginning of the fall semester and a Christmas stocking full of goodies useful for any degree seeking student. I have been connected with a mentor through PepsiCo and we have monthly phone calls, and received another box of supplies I use on a regular basis. With the government shutdown, some of my funding sources were delayed, but PWNA's AIEF scholarship was in my account and processed on time. This helped me tremendously because any shortfalls from my tuition and fees had to paid out of pocket or through additional student loans. I am thankful for the support provided by PWNA and know there are other students out there receiving the same quality of support. I have sent in my application again for my second year and I have shared this scholarship with other Native students attending my university. Wopila Tanka!! (Big thanks).
