Review for Stella Adler Studio of Acting, New York, NY, USA

When I first walked into Stella Adler for my interview for the summer Shakespeare outreach program, I felt like I walked into an amazing historic place where many great actors have been in before. All of the walls were covered with pictures of the past succesful alums. That was all the inspiration I needed. After my four incredible weeks spent that summer surrounded by the best teachers I had to re-apply for the year long outreach program. I can not explain how thankful I am to the Stella Adler Studio of Acting Outreach program. It has become my home away from home. I will always treasure my expieriences there and the ones I am going to have in the future.

My acting abilities have grown so much. The voice and movement teachers are very helpful and I've never seen such growth from myself or from my fellow students as I have in Stella Adler.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wouldn't change a thing. I would only hope that one day there were more programs like this one to this high of standards around the country.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The classroom experience is indescribable. The amount of support that every one has is mindblowing. I never felt stupid or worng. I learned that it's all part of the learning and creative process. I now can be truly open to all of my ideas and not judge.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

The staff is full of life and enthusiasm for theatre. They love to help you discover your true potential. I've worked with Carlos Caldart for the last year and he has taught me more then I would have ever expected to learn. He pushes your thinking.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

If this orginization had 10 million bucks they would help expand the range of their influence on all of the underprivliged New York students who are interested in acting. They will give them the tools they need to follow their dreams. 2 words, "more hope"

Ways to make it better...

I can't imagine a better experience

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Not enough donations. If there where more. More could be accomplished.

Role:  Client Served & I am in the outreach program. I come from a family that couldn't afford to send me to acting classes but Stella Adler was there and is helping me to get my fundamentals in acting.
