Review for Golden Retriever Club of Greater Los Angeles Rescue, Los Angeles, CA, USA
I adopted my first Retriever from the Rescue about 7 years ago and I then volunteered to foster for the Rescue. I was a failed foster my first time out and ended up adopting her. I then fostered several more times for the Rescue. I lost my female in 2007 to old age ailments and I adopted a young female with "special needs". The Rescue had surgery performed at the cost of $5,000 and that was not the end of her expenses to the Rescue. I have had her now for over 2 years and she is a joy. I lost my 1st Rescue in December of 08 due to cancer. Due to some health problems I have not been fostering but I have stayed in touch and I know the ends these people go to save an animal. They are very caring and really take the time to make the perfect match. God Bless all who volunteer their time and money for this Rescue.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
my own adoptions and fostering and I have stayed in contact with other adopters and volunteers. I have attended some of their fund raisers and have recommended them to anyone who is ready to adopt a companion.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would not make a single change
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
I have met some wonderful people through this group and some truly wonderful dogs.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
All the volunteers are totally dedicated to the saving of these dogs and go above and beyond the call of duty.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
They would be able to save many more dogs, they are at an all time high of rescues due mainly to the failure of the housing market.
Ways to make it better...
I wish I could have become more involved with the rescue.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Finding the funds to continue their work. This is a hard time for any charitable organization due to the economy and most of the volunteers spend their own money to save a dog.
One thing I'd also say is that...
I love this rescue and I love my dogs.
