Review for Surfrider Foundation, San Clemente, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I grew up in Ocean City, MD. The Surfrider Foundation has a big presence in my town due to the high volume of tourists that are attracted to the beach during the summer months. The contribute to the success that Ocean City has in keeping the beaches clean and free of debris every day. The non-profit that has been established is extremely beneficial to everyone in the community, not just beach-goers and people who surf.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the daily life at the beach in Ocean City, MD but I know they have presence all over the USA.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

expand to cities and inland areas.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

directly seeing the results everyday at the beach and seeing people get engaged in the mission of the company.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

enthusiastic and stoked.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

let all of America know about its mission and motivate a LOT more people to help out and raise funding.

Ways to make it better...

I was more connected with the organization prior to volunteering.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

getting volunteers to come out to the beach clean-up sessions.

One thing I'd also say is that...

this organization can contribute to all people, not just people at the beach and tree-huggers.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2002

Role:  General Member of the Public & When I was in high school I volunteered for the Surfrider Foundation to get service learning hours. I have been following the organization on the internet and at the beach and have noticed their impact as a general member of the community.
