Labrador Rescuers does an amazing job of rescuing dogs from local shelters, providing them veterinary care, coordinating their temporary foster care and hosting pet adoption events until they find their new permanent owners. I have now adopted 2 dogs through this organization. Sydney, my first adopted lab, came to us from Riverside County where her original owners gave her up when they lost their home (during the recession). She was rescued from the pound and taken to a foster family where she spent 4 months until we adopted her permanently. She was the light of my life for the 6 years that I had her. She passed away at 12.5 years old, but lived a great life with us and we still miss her every day. My newly adopted lab is Moose, who came to us from Vista (we think) when his owners gave him up due to kennel cough (and other health issues). He got some much needed veterinary care right away through Lab Rescuers and spent 2 weeks at a lovely foster home until we adopted him. He is adjusting well to our home/family and is 6 years and 90 pounds of pure chocolate lab love! We are so thrilled to have been able to adopt such loving animals through this great organization. They do an amazing job of coordinating volunteers, fundraising, and saving these pups from uncertain futures.
