Volunteering with Save The Whales was one of the highlights of my graduating semester at my university. They offer a variety of programs that you can choose to help with, from teaching kids about the Watershed to teaching kids about Sea turtles. There was always something new to learn with every event that I was able to attend and help with.
I also really liked the flexibility of being able to essentially choose your own schedule, they emailed out a list of dates and events which made it easier to schedule service hours, and I enjoyed not being tied down to a specific time slot of hours every week. Save the Whales is a great organization and if I was still in Monterey Bay I would have loved to continue volunteering for them, they really do a good job of serving their community and I am so thankful for the opportunities they gave me.
