I’ve been a supporter of Chris Elliott since he helped me decades ago. Recently, I had to ask his help again. I booked a VRBO IN August for use in December. The property had a refund policy of 100% if canceled 30 days in advance and 50% if canceled 14 days in advance. 2 days before my scheduled stay, the owner demanded $1000. to be paid in cash at check in as a deposit against damages and to be paid outside of the VRBO platform. She refused to drop this even after I bought damage insurance to protect her property. I requested to cancel the reservation but she refused a refund citing her policy, even though she made the demand too late for me to comply. VRBO refused a refund based on her cancellation policy. It was only due to one of Chris’ staff members, Michelle Couch Friedman, that I got my money back. They do this FOR FREE! I can’t say enough good things about these folks and this organization!
