I support st. Joseph's Indian School monthly just as my mother did before me. Our family owes a great debt to Chief Sitting Bull who was a friend of my great-grandfather's. They were unlikely friends at a chaotic time in the history of the Lakota. But they became close and Chief Sitting Bull held a naming ceremony for my grandmother when she was born. That was always a source of great pride for her. The chief warned my great-grandfather to take his family and leave The Dakotas because great trouble was coming. That was five generations ago. Perhaps my family survived because of the Friendship of this great man. So I am honored to help as I'm able in the good work of St. Joseph's Indian School.
