Review for Arabian Rescue Mission Inc, Leitchfeild, KY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I learned about ARM through an Internet search for Arabian rescue organizations. Years ago I fell in love with Arabs and owned and trained a number of my own until a family medical issue moved me to Houston and I had to find loving homes for my 9 precious Arabs.

Once I was ready and able to own a horse again, however, I knew I wanted to adopt . I searched for a full year, contacting a number of organization representatives and viewing literally hundreds of hours of videos posted by various individuals and rescue organizations.

The one I kept coming back to was ARM. I sent an email expressing interest and then called to speak with Terry Figueroa, founder. I was quite impressed with Terry and decided to travel to Kentucky from Louisiana to evaluate the facility and the horses for myself.

Upon arrival, I felt like I was in Arabian horse heaven! There were so many beautiful Arabs and the facility was extremely nice and well kept. The horses were in excellent flesh and obviously well cared for. I was impressed.

Terry recommended several horses that she felt matched my preferences/needs and allowed me to work with those horses (and a few others that I wanted to check out). I so enjoyed my visit with the horses and with Terry that I extended my stay and then regretted having to leave.

The adoption process was impressive as well. I realized that as I was evaluating Terry and ARM, she was also evaluating me to make sure that I would provide an adequate forever home for one of her "babies". ARM requires monthly pictures of adopted horses for the first year to provide evidence of proper care. I greatly respect and appreciate this.

I adopted a beautiful Arab mix mare and she has been wonderful! I have been using her as a lesson horse for beginning riders and everyone loves her. She has become a wonderful companion and friend to me, as Arabs do and she will always be my special lady. I am looking forward to visiting Terry and the Kentucky farm again this spring and I will be looking for another Arabian to bring home. The hardest part of the process is making a choice because I want to bring them all home!

I highly recommend Terry and ARM to anyone looking for a great horse to add to their family. These horses are evaluated by Terry and she is very good at matching potential adopters with the right horse.
