Review for Technovation, Los Angeles, CA, USA
As a former employee of Technovation:Girls, I saw firsthand the impact of our program on girls' leadership development. Many girls who participated in Technovation:Girls have gone on to showcase their products to elected officials and the media, present at tech conferences, and start Technovation clubs at their schools. Many girls have even launched their own non-profits and initiatives to address community problems. Most importantly, these young women have gone on to pursue an education and career in tech, becoming role models for younger girls, and breaking down gender barriers.
The staff members at Technovation are committed to ensuring that they train the next generation of tech leaders. Technovation has mobilized a volunteer force of thousands around the world to provide hands-on learning experiences for youth. I was proud to work at Technovation and look fondly at my time at Technovation, both personally and professionally.
Review for Urban Erie Community Development Corporation, Erie, PA, USA
I volunteered as an AmeriCorps VISTA for 2 years at UECDC and it was a life-changing experience. This center is a second home for many within the community (particularly New Americans) and is a driving force of change for creating education and employment opportunities for families on the East Side. The staff at the center go above and beyond in helping everyone who walks through their doors.
