I went to a recital a few years ago for the first time, and I was amazed. Simply put, Joann Ferrara is extraordinary. Her boundless energy and connection to children and their families make Dancing Dreams what it is -- a unique and compelling experience that teaches children with physical challenges to look beyond their compromises. It empowers and educates the student assistants and opens their eyes to those less fortunate than themselves. The families are overjoyed by the recitals, and their participation raises the self esteem of the children who participate. Joann should be recognized as a hero. She has created something enormous from the concept to the initial launch right through to today's version, and she continues to grow the program. She is giving the give of happiness and achievement to the children who participate. She's a true hero.
