I did not participate in emergency or transitional housing, but was directed to Brighter Tomorrows by RAINN and have benefited from the free counseling offered here for the past two years. It has changed my life. I was seeking assistance in processing childhood sexual assault. Sara (LPC-Intern) is trained in EMDR, which is often recommended for processing sexual trauma. The counseling I received through this organization not only helped me claim a more empowered self, and process emotional struggles beyond the sexual violence, but also provided me with resources from other organizations when I needed outside help. I am very happy with the two years of counseling I received, and the fact that it was free made it accessible at a tumultuous time when I would not have otherwise been able to receive counseling.
