I have been volunteering with this rescue since 2003. At that time I saw a German Shepherd about to be killed at the county shelter, and called the founder of the rescue, Lori Hoffman; she explained to me that they had no open fosters for the dog to go to and she was sorry. 1 hour later I see the dog was being pulled by none other than Heidis Legacy Dog Rescue. It was then I volunteered and have not looked back. Since that time Lori and I worked side by side saving 100s of dogs over the years. Lori would always step up for the dogs in the worst shape who no one else would even think of rescuing. We have paid $1000s to put a dog back together only to receive a $200 adoption fee. Taking in these very needy medical dogs and fixing them was Lori's passion. Thats what credit cards are for she would say. Very, very sadly, Lori passed a few months ago but she will always be my hero of the dog world. Heidi's and Lori's legacy continues on in Lori's spirit. Pic is my hero and dear friend, Lori Hoffman.
