Review for You Can Thrive! Foundation, New York, NY, USA
I had breast cancer. I also had tremendous support from friends and family throughout my treatments. Along the way, I was fortunate enough to join a community of fellow survivors through You Can Thrive! I became a client of You Can Thrive when I was still in the middle of Chemotherapy. The first time I came to You Can Thrive! I felt a warm, calm and loving energy that is so powerful and healing, it is difficult to describe in words. For the first time in a long time, I felt peaceful.
You Can Thrive! offers a comprehensive holistic wellness program designed to help patients through the physical and emotional toll that cancer has taken on them. As a client, I received weekly integrative therapies that alleviated many of the side effects of the treatments I was going through, as well as heighten my state of mind in a way that is difficult to articulate. I received Acupuncture, Reiki, reflexology, massage, aromatherapy, EFT, education, nutrition counseling and support regularly.
After cancer treatment ends, You Can Thrive! is a place where patients come to be with like-minded survivors and to stay on track with the survivorship plans they have created with patient advocates, as part of the program. This organization continues to help so many women lead healthier lives during and after breast cancer. Cancer took away my peace and sense of control and security. You Can Thrive! helped me reclaim them.
I feel so fortunate to be one of the people profoundly helped by this organization. At the same time, I am sad that a place like this is so unique. Why isn’t there a You Can Thrive! in every city? Why is it that it can only be open once a week? You Can Thrive! deserves a permanent space and a home every place where cancer exists. This organization deserves the funds to expand, to help more people and to reach its full potential. Think of how world changing it would be, and the positive ripple effect that it would create. You have the ability to make it happen by making a donation
