Review for Sierras Haven For New And Used Pets, Portsmouth, OH, USA
Sierra's Haven opened September 30, 2006 to provide shelter for companion pets, namely cats and dogs. Currently, we house about 80 dogs and 250 cats. In 2009, our shelter took in 341 dogs and 334 cats; we adopted 333 dogs and 238 cats into community homes. In December 2009, we began a partnership with PetSmart Charities and Rescue Waggin' to ship puppies and dogs to other receiving shelters. Since December, we have shipped 272 dogs and puppies to adoptive homes. This new relationship has saved these animals and made room for additional dogs at our shelter. PetSmart Charities has also provided funding to our shelter to be a part of our aggressive low-income spay/neuter program. In 2009, we spayed/neutered 1309 dogs and cats.

We have been at the shelter and experienced the physical construction and completion of the building, the equipping of the surgery area, the actual spay/neuter surgeries, and the intake and adoptions of our cats and dogs.
