I am a bookseller and event manager for a wonderful independent bookstore. A number of years ago my farm was struck by a tornado which devastated our land, home, and dairy barn. The damage largely exceeded what we recovered through our insurance and many repairs to our home have been left uncompleted. BINC stepped in with a matching grant that will allow us to finish installing a shower in our now non-functioning bathroom. It has been a very long road coming back from the disaster that struck us and we are so very grateful for the kindness and empathy BINC staff members extended to us. After so many stones in the road, and refusals, and dismissals, BINC has restored our faith in community.
