Review for Northwest Boxer Rescue, Woodinville, WA, USA
After we lost our 16 yr old boxer I said never again. We are seniors and can't afford the medical costs to keep our dog healthy. So we got a rescue cat but it wasn't the same. One day I was on my facebook and just looking up boxer. I found Northwest Boxer Rescue. A wonderful woman came to our home to talk about being a foster family. There was a form to fill out and our home and yard looked at. It seemed like a perfect match!! We can buy dog food,we do that instead of vacations,or other luxuries. We decided to foster senior citizen boxers. Long story short this organization has filled our hearts, been tons of help with anything we can't get, a crate has been loaned to us until we can get our own. It's100% volunteer. No one gets paid,no one not even the president!.My experience is nothing unique with NWBR. Everything is checked, every application for fosters and adoptions. Dogs are matched with the perfect family. The fosters are never in cages or kennels. They are all matched with foster homes, I'm waiting for one now, and the dogs stay UNTIL they are adopted. NWBR never turns down a dog that needs us. And not are all full bred boxers. We have boxer mixes, bulldogs, we've even has a pug or two. Many dogs come to us with medical issues, and some life threatening. This rescue boxer never says " well we can't afford him so put him down" NEVER. They say let's do some more fundraising somewhere. And that's another dog saved. We even been at that desperate time. Yes we did adopt a beautiful tiny girl (pocket boxer) and she had a cancer on one of her legs. It was pretty hopeless for us as we just didn't have any money. A gofundme page was started and the generosity of the rescue and adopters the bill of $542 was raised for us. The prayers and love and well wishes kept us going. Now mind you our girls surgery was cheap as far as cancers go. But it was a load off our minds and hearts.I can't think of any other group that could squeeze every penny they get. These wonderful people all work regular jobs and then put hours in everyday and night for the rescue. Please please please give these folks the grant money. They deserve it so much and who knows how many more boxers or any other dogs life could be saved. Sorry about how long this ia .I'm famous for rambling on but these folks really saved an old couples love of the "wiggle butts" and thank you for reading it.One more time please give them some money!!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Not do a thing. Everybody gives their all for our dogs. Maybe the only thing I would change is to wiggle my nose and get many more volunteers. Not just fosters, although those would be awesome. But some volunteers that do t.v., newspapers, graphic designs, that type of volunteers.
