I've been on the Board of United Midcoast Charities for one year. The experience has been rewarding. Overcoming a significant adversity several years ago, UMC has evolved into a stronger and more effective organization. This year $500,000 was disbursed to over 40 Knox and Waldo non-profits. There is a new executive director and an active board. It is an exciting place to be!
