Review for Youth Science Center, Hacienda Heights, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I was first introduced to the Youth Science Program by some moms whom I had met through a Mommy and Me class. It was a godsend to find a fun and educational place to send my childen to during the summer. It's way too easy to let them sit in front of the computer not doing anything. The Youth Science Center allowed my children to be exposed to science in a fun and educational way. They were able to do things that they weren't able to do in class due to the large class sizes and lack of public school funding. Where else can a child learn to build and launch a rocket or have a hands on lesson on gemology? Eating your way through a math lesson is way more fun than staring at a bunch of numbers. How many children get to learn about the space program and have instructors who are actually knowledgeable about it? These are just a few of the things that the Youth Science Center can offer. The biggest problem like most non profits is the lack of money. Student enrollment is down as the economy struggles. If you raise fees, then it hurts the very children the program is designed to help. My wish is that they are able to get funding and support. As we all know, children are the gateway to our future. If we invest in them now, the rewards will be plentiful in the future.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My children have become much stonger in math and science. They have learned so much more than their peers have due to the varied courses available to take and it's all under one roof. They are able to answer questions that other children can't.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
