Review for RRUFF Rocklin Residents Unite For Fido, Rocklin, CA, USA
This group has not only created the best dog park in the area, with 3 separate areas useful year round, they have also created an auxilliary function of raising funds for service dog training for veterans. They also help cover some of the veteran's veterinarians bills. This service has enabled many veterans suffering with PTSD to resume useful, happy lives.

I've been a board member from the beginning. This dog park is one of the best, if not the best, in the area. Thanks to some wonderful volunteers it's kept very clean. The park has 3 separate areas for play; and can be used all year because of the good drainage. It also has Agility equipment in both the large and small dog areas. The Special Needs area is used for meet-up groups, training, and shy dogs. The volunteers for this park, as well as being very active in local functions, have expanded our scope and have provided funding for service dog training for veterans.

RRUFF started as a group dedicated to founding the first dog park in Rocklin. After that success, we also became a source of funding for service dog training for veterans with PTSD, TBI, or military sexual trauma. We now fund classes at 3 college campuses and at least 3 other sites. We are especially excited about our pilot program at Beale Air Force Base. In preparation for discharge, some veterans are diagnosed with one of the "hidden" injuries. Our program offers immediate service dog training upon discharge. We hope that this will drastically cut down on the number of veteran's suicides.
It is such a joy to see a person who is unable to interact with society to becoming a functioning, happy, service dog owner. Some of our graduates have even been able to speak in front of a group of strangers about their experience.
Review for Four Paws To Freedom, Rancho Cordova, CA, USA
I am a board member of Rocklin Residents Unite For Fido/Healing Heroes. We provide the funding for some of the veterans in the classes that Four Paws to Freedom provides. We have worked with Terry, the founder, for about 5 years, and have had heartwarming results. Terry has the amazing ability to pair dogs to veterans, and to know if a veteran will benefit from her classes. She, and her other trainers, teach the veterans how to train their own dogs...a very successful process. I have personally seen veterans who wouldn't/couldn't interact with others becoming able to give a talk in front of strangers about their experiences...thanks to Four Paws to Freedom.
