I have been volunteering at the Barrier Island Center in Melbourne Beach for over 3 years now. Never have I met such a wonderful, caring staff - caring of their visitors, their volunteers, as well as their cause, the Sea Turtles! It seems that every time I volunteer, I also learn something new- either from the visitors that come into the Center, or our dedicated & educated staff. I never lose the thrill of assisting with our Turtle Walks during the summer. To see the looks on our Guests' faces when they see a turtle for the first time, till the turtle enters back into the ocean - Wow! I LOVE the Barrier Island Center / Sea Turtle Conservancy!!
