I have been with the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge for a couple of years now. I started as a seasonal volunteer when I was here during the winter months, and now that I am living here full time, I volunteer twice a week or more when needed. The professional staff, Interns and Volunteers are some of the most caring individuals I have ever met. They all are genuinely concerned for the health and well being of all the native animals from the smallest baby hummingbird to the Great Blue Heron, raccoon, or fox. They also are willing to offer advise and answer questions when the public calls about an abandoned or injured critter. The Florida wildlife is in capable, caring hands when the personnel of the ECWR are involved.
