Xela AID is an organization that promotes self-reliance, and does not believe in handouts, but “hands up”. I spent 4 days at their facility in San Martin, Guatemala, and it was obvious from the moment the bus pulled up that Xela AID makes a differnece in that community. Their education programs to help break the cycle of poverty are so necessary, and the children that have graduated from their programs are helping others in their community break that cycle. I can’t wait until my next trip to Guatemala to help improve the lives of those living in the mountainous community and provide hope to the families in the area.
