I moved to the Canyon Lake area in 2002 as a clergy person in the local Episcopal church. I soon discovered the CRRC as my closest ally in helping people of all ages with various needs in this community. The Recreation Center provided activities for youth as well as exercise and other adult programs. The thrift store was a source of needed resources for those with limited financial resources as well as a place to allow people to give to others in need good but no longer needed household possessions. The Social Service program became a clearing house for those of us in the community who regularly helped people in need of food, fuel, money for rent or utility bills etc.. I am presently serving my second term on the Board of CRRC (about ten years apart). This agency has continued to expand the scope of it's mission during the 17 years that I have been associated with it. We are in the process of building facilities to expand the Food Bank, administrative offices and health related services for those in the Canyon Lake area who do not have the resources to access them. I believe CRRC is the face of compassion, hope and concern for all the people who live in the whole Canyon Lake community.
