Review for Endangered Wolf Center, Eureka, MO, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Wolves have always held a special place in my heart so I jumped at the chance to go to an Open House over 10 years ago in early October and was captivated at once. The tour guides gave a nice presentation of the Mexican grey wolves, red wolves, maned wolf and the swift fox. They gave the history of the Endangered Wolf Center (then known as the Wild Canid Survival and Research Center) and explained how their center operates, as well as how it benefits the regrowth of these species in the wild. I went to another Open House in 2012 and learned even more than I did before. I have recently been back for a private tour, where I was able to get a one-on-one educational background with a fantastic guide that gave great in-depth information on all of the wolves, foxes and African painted dogs that currently reside at the center. This past weekend I attended WolfFest 18 (which is the new name for their Open House) and I was truly blown away at how much the event had grown since the last time I attended one! All of the workers and volunteers were truly amazing - so friendly and knowledgeable and handled any question thrown their way with ease. They had so many fun and educational tools to engage the kids with that left the kids buzzing on the commuter bus on the ride back to the parking area! The Endangered Wolf Center is a fantastic facility, run by a caring crew of folks that pride in what they do and value educating those that come to the facility. It is for these reasons that I became a member by adopting one of their legacy Mexican grey wolves, named Anna at their WolfFest 18 event this past Saturday, October 20, 2018.
