I have learned so much in the year I've been working as the program coordinator at Sanctuary One. I have connected with the most amazing school groups and their extremely dedicated teachers. I have learned so much about caring for horses, goats, sheep, cows, pigs, ducks and chickens! I get to work in the learning garden and permaculture garden where volunteers and staff have shared their knowledge with me and taught me how to start seeds, nurture plants, compost, transplant, and soil build. My favorite part has been sharing this learning with the students and youth groups who come to visit the farm. I get to enjoy the beauty of the mountains every day and sometimes we see Bald Eagles and fresh water Otters visiting the sanctuary. I am so excited to be a part of this care farm model, helping people to connect to animals and the earth.
