I came to World Fellowship for the first time this summer, to attend a week-long choral workshop with the wonderful folk-singer, feminist and justice advocate Bev Grant. i not only loved singing with a dozen spirited women every day but encountered so many other touching people and experiences. Each evening featured an informative and inspiring report from the field--Greek refugee settlements, the Puerto Rican countryside, the US university system--where brave and caring people are coming together to alleviate suffering and honor our shared humanity. Each day was spent exploring the pristine lake and woods, enjoying fresh, lovingly prepared meals, and participating in a range of activities. I especially loved the joyful. restorative yoga taught by the incomparable artist, teacher and healer Becky Thomson. WFC caretakers Andrea and Andy. and the staff and volunteers, welcome visitors with kindness. humor and a commitment to education and equity. I can understand why some have been coming back for decades to connect, relax and revitalize--and will hopefully be able to return to this place for many decades more.
