Review for Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation, Arlington, VA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

For the last 8 years my boyfriend Drew and I have both been customers of the LDRF. They have a great restaurant that operates to help the animals. We feel great about our past purchases because we're both animal lovers. I cannot say enough good things about our experience adopting our beautiful pet, Gracie. She's a 12 week old puppy who came home less than two weeks ago. Adopting a puppy in this area can be challenging, we visited several events prior to making our decision. On Monday our dog Gracie and her three litter-mates were set to be put down. This is when the LDRF stepped in and saved her. Tuesday she went to her Foster Mom's house. We emailed the Foster Mom and she set up an appointment outside of the adoption events for Thursday. We were able to take our time and select the puppy that was right for us. Gracie's Foster Mom completed our first interview. On Friday, we met the Foster Mom and the Adoption Coordinator. Our process was complete, and Gracie was set to be a part of our home. At the end of the day, LDRF has my vote because they run their foundation like a true non-profit business. It's a cause that you feel good about supporting, and our puppy just received a clean bill of health from the Vet. There aren't enough nice people in the world who work for their passion, but the majority of them that are employed by or volunteer for LDRF. We both highly recommend this organization and will continue to support them through our purchases at the restaurants, and/or potentially volunteering.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Their adoption process. The ensured that our puppy was spayed prior to adopting her, something that most of the local organizations do not provide unless the animal is 6 months or more. A++++

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I couldn't or wouldn't change a thing. The only thing I wish is that there were more nice people who could volunteer their time, and donate more for these animals!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The adoption process. We couldn't be happier with our puppy Gracie!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Were kind, organized, and passionate about helping animals.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Help many more lost dogs and cats. :)

Ways to make it better...

The adoption event is hectic as their are a lot of people trying to interact with the animals and shop. However, it is a catch 22, you have to have high traffic areas to get the animal adopted...

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Not having enough volunteers. You should volunteer if you're reading this!

One thing I'd also say is that...

I love this place!

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010
