What an amazing organization! The struggle is real for each and every person involved with Lyme Warrior as all of the volunteers are sick with Lyme. Lymies suffer from such a variety of symptoms that we can often be dismissed, by the people we most rely on. Because of that, life can be very isolating. As the saying goes, "they don't get it until they GET it." In addition, we really see the lack of acknowledgement and awareness of what this disease can do to people and their pets and the few options we have for treatment. Lyme Warrior gives us an opportunity to have a first hand impact on our own future and on the lives of others through Lyme Awareness and education campaigns. We raise money for Lyme disease research; an area that is grossly underfunded. And we share the love. Lyme Warrior community is just that, a community full of love and support and folks who know exactly what you're going through, so we send out Kid's Smile Boxes. They let kids suffering from Lyme know that we are right there with them, even if just in spirit, to put a smile on their faces. Lyme Warrior not only helps others, but it also gives it's volunteers a sense of pride and purpose while we're fighting our own illness. What we do gives me a future to hope for. It gives me something to hang on to. Lyme disease has caused me to put off some of my career aspirations and passions and working for Lyme Warrior has allowed me to keep my fingers in the pie. I love working for Lyme Warrior.
