Review for Beacon House Association of San Pedro, San Pedro, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I abused alcohol and drugs for over 20 years of my life. I wanted to stop many times but never could pull it off. I tried evey imaginable way to stop I mean I have been baptized, hands laid on me, oil poured over my head, abstinence and I can not count the many times I tried willpower but all to no avail. I tried treatment programs 5 times and still kept using until I took a suggestion and tried the house. I came with the the idea that I knew something and was exicted about what I was going to bring to the house. When I got there they said something so simple just follow some simple directions and I gurantee your life will change. Nobody ever guranteed me anything in recovery so I was out to prove them wrong. Now nine years later I am so glad they were right. God Bless Beacon House and all that are associated with them.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I spent six months in the primary program in 2001 and 2 years in sober living. I try to go the house as often as I can to give back and show the newcomer how it works.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Bless it with the financial means to help many more addicts and alcoholics.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

It connected me with a God that is truly remarkable

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Honest and told me the truth especially when I did not want to hear it. And they have never given up on me to this very day

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Help many more struggling addicts and alcoholics like myself.

Ways to make it better...

I would not change my experience for nothing in the world.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Lack of funds.

One thing I'd also say is that...

The basic program as I know it is great.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010
