Review for Cambodian Children's Fund, Santa Monica, CA, USA
I've just come back from a trip to PP where I visited CCF and saw the amazing work that they do. I was really impressed with their philosophy and the fact they help the entire family unit, and not just a child - this is so important, as everyone benefits. The level of education that the students get is amazing and the schools are of a very high level. I was given the opportunity to be involved with the dinner preparation at CCF, and it was truly a humbling experience.
However, the real eye opener was when I went for the community walk! The obstacles and barriers the children and their families overcome on a daily basis is mind boggling. I happened to go on a very rainy day, and just walking through the community where the "road" was pretty much a small river by the time I was there, and to see the houses that CCF provides and the food that they give the community so that the families can function as "normal" is amazing. I truly felt that this was a charity where the money donated is directly benefiting the people it's for.
