Review for The Humane Society of the United States, Washington, DC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The HSUS is an amazing, precision organization. Its mission: to help animals of any kind, anywhere, whatever the reason. They don't ask if they should respond they respond in a clear, organized manner. They have helped pass legislation that benefits animals in nearly all fifty states; and they know how to negotiate a great deal (as just happened in Ohio). The unfortunate thing I see is that the Center for Consumer Freedom has put the HSUS in its range of fire because the HSUS is easily one of the most efficient and non-threatening animal welfare/rights organizations in the country, if not the world. I appreciate that the HSUS remains above the fray, and ensures that animals always come first. My name is Christa Turnell, and I am not associated with the Humane Society of the United States in any capacity.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the wake of Hurricane Katrina (I rescued an HSUS rescued dog), I have seen news reports about !&%^$! fighting rings being broken up, and have hoped for their success in trying to rescue animals hurt in the Gulf oil disaster.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Professional, devotion to animas

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Great, compassionate, empathetic, hard-working and devoted to animals.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Do everything everyone outside the organization wants it to do. . .

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
