Review for WeSPARK Cancer Support Center, Sherman Oaks, CA, USA
Grief is such a shameful emotion in the Korean-American community. As a daughter of a traditional father, any show of my grief always triggered his rage. Needless to say, I never dealt with these terroristic family tactics.
Thankfully, a therapist referred me to WeSpark. The groups sessions are (in some ways) the hardest I’ve ever done. I’m aghast at my own levels of rage, and sometimes I’m frightened at my level of repression, as well as the depth of emotion.
Thanks to the intake workers at WeSpark who immediately saw that I needed help. Thanks to all the donors who have made this previously unthinkable journey possible for me. Once I’m in the clear, I hope to repay this (essentially) gift of life.
