Pearl S. Buck International (PSBI) is one of the most reputable and efficient nonprofit organizations that I have had ever come across. Its uniqueness lies not only in the wonderful charitable work it is diligently engaged in (spanning from sponsoring children through financing special projects in areas of most need to offering scholarships), but also in its efforts to preserve the legacy of first American female Noble Prize winner in literature (who was also an avid activist in many areas that are still applicable in today's society, such as equality) and its tireless efforts to increase awareness and provide training in diversity and inclusion, sensitivity to which in today's world is extremely important. Personally, through PSBI, I have been sponsoring a child in the Philippines and the experience has been humbling and fulfilling on many levels for me. For just a dollar a day we can make a difference in a young human's life! Finally, I find the staff and volunteer members of this organization to be very dedicated, altruistic, and inspiring.
