Review for Cat Network, Inc., Miami, FL, USA

Rating: 4 stars

Unfortunately I had to find out about The Cat Network by desperation. In the past year my neighborhood has begun to have a stray cat problem. Fortunately and thankfully The Cat Network helps those of us who want to help the stray cat population by aiding us with affordable spay/neuter certificates, making traps available and in general giving us a support system. It can be a daunting task to try and help all the homeless cats out there but The Cat Network helps us help cats all the while keeping the felines out of shelters where they are highly likely to get euthanized.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the matter of spay/neuter certificates, their mobile unit (Meow Mobile, which travels to local neighborhoods throughout the year), the veterinarians that offer lower cost services, adoption via online & pet stores

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

the demand for help is big but it's impossible to talk to someone from the organization in a timely fashion. On ocassion, they don't even answer back your call.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I've gotten to meet with other cat/animal lovers in the Miami area.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

basically do away with the stray cat problem in the Miami Dade county area.

Ways to make it better...

Timely and informative answers from volunteers who call back. A bigger list of available vets who do the surgeries for the value of certificates (without adding extra charges for their services).

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

too many stray animals, veterinarians who generously give their time & accept to do surgeries for a reasonable price (after all these are stray cats, not our personal pets, we can't afford to pay regular $ for these surgeries.

One thing I'd also say is that...

More people need to get involved as a whole and more veterinarians need to give up a a bit of their time to the cause. Most vets do not help out and a lot of those who do, do so putting forth minimal effort and economical sacrifice.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

One time

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Client Served & I've received spay/neuter certificates & advice on trapping strays.
