Review for Caribbean Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Livelihoods (CoESL), Bridgetown, , Barbados

Rating: 4 stars

Dr. Brandon is a dedicated social entrepreneur, and facilitator of entrepreneur capacity development; she is firm in her commitment to strengthen the capacity of youth entrepreneurs. Through CoESL she plays an outstanding role in connecting young and new entrepreneurs in the Eastern Caribbean to up-to-date knowledge, practice, and how-to for starting and growing their businesses, and for taking on the journey of sustainable livelihood.

She did not hesitate when we invited her to collaborate us and The Caribbean Camera for bringing the voices of and showcasing Caribbean Entrepreneurs in Canada during Global Entrepreneurship Week 2017 (Entrepreneurs were featured in “Views on News” in The Caribbean Camera for the first time). She also provided a rich interview on the DNA of the Caribbean entrepreneur in an effort to help young entrepreneurs of Caribbean roots in Canada to better understand their entrepreneurship DNA.

Beyond social entrepreneurship CoESL is dedicated to the growth of businesses in the Region, and brought to the attention of Magate Wildhorse Ltd a call for proposal for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Lead Generation Services by the Caribbean Export Development Agency (For the Region’s first Outsource to the Caribbean Conference); and for which we wrote the winning proposal. It was a pleasure to work with Dr. Brandon and CoESL on that project.

That CoESL and Marcia have mobilized and served as ambassador and leader in strengthening the capacity of entrepreneurs and the formation of businesses, and new business support professionals in the region is unquestionable. From conferences, workshops, trainings, to Global Entrepreneur Network programmes they have been a mover and shaker providing capacity building, rallying, and connecting entrepreneurs. The Caribbean Global Entrepreneurship Week represents just one of the initiatives that CoESL and Dr. Brandon leads for making entrepreneurship desirable in the region. I look forward to seeing the continuation of the work of CoESL and Dr. Brandon.
