Review for Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue Inc, San Angelo, TX, USA
Listen, it takes a lot of time and money to do what Mark and Amy are doing. And when the coronavirus crisis occurred, Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue Inc, naturally took a hit with folks who were struggling that could not continue their sponsorship. What did Mark and Amy do? Immediately increased their own commitment to their cause. That shows me how selfless they are. STILL happy to be able to help out this organization.

As 'symbolic adoptive' parents of Daxon Serval, we sure miss coming to the sanctuary to visit him during the health crisis (COVID-19), but the staff has been excellent. They keep us up-to-date with news of the cats and have added daily live videos that allow everyone to see what goes on. So glad we can stay in touch this way. Sharing a pic of our guy's birthday enrichment last year, since we weren't able to make it to see him this year. He is not on the tour route due to being a bit nervous, but all of that goes away when the food truck approaches!

My name is probably on at least 50 lists for animal welfare causes. I donate to some, not all, but pick a few select charities to concentrate on. PVDR is one of those charities. After reading some of the statements, I went back to Charity Navigator to review and I encourage others reading these reviews to do the same. The ratios some folks have listed are no longer accurate. Also, with regards to sharing Floyd's story, I would first and foremost say that I am thankful that horrifying stories are not so run of the mill that PVDR has so many to choose from. We all know what grabs folks attention and what initially moves them. People need to see what the worst can be and then compare that to the good that PVDR is doing. I am grateful to Mark and Amy, who seem to be pretty selfless in my opinion, for having the courage to do what they are doing. More power to them and all of the folks in the organization that make great things happen...

We first heard about Carolina Tiger Rescue on the local news years ago, when Elvis was 'dropped off' at the sanctuary. That sparked my first inclination to donate and later, we were able to visit the sanctuary a couple of times. We have since sponsored two servals and go up regularly, making the 2.5 hour trip about every other month to visit the wonderful, majestic cats and funny kinks and coatis. As with others posting here, this sanctuary has been an eye-opener to the unfortunate plights of these animals. Pet trade, including canned hunts, is appalling and no matter how many times we visit, we are struck by how fortunate these particular animals are to be able to live out the remainder of their lives here. Best possible care, delivered with compassion. A natural environment and stimulating enrichment tailored to the animal. Cheer for the volunteers and the staff that work hard in the elements for this organization. Special shout out to their vet, for all of the work she does.

We've been adoptive parents to two servals over the last few years. Coming to the rescue to spend time with all of these magnificent animals is truly humbling and often thrilling! Being 'stalked' by a cougar is rather exciting to say the least. Knowing their storied past is heartbreaking. Carolina Tiger Rescue does a wonderful job educating people about the species they care for, the individual animals and the ways (big and small) that everyone can do to lessen the need for animal rescues. We go there as often as we can to visit our friends...oh, and the staff too!
